The "Extrude" and "Revolve" commands in AutoCAD can be used to convert 2D floor plan to 3D model. 3D modelers use the term "extrude" to describe the process of expanding a 2D shape into 3D space. To execute this extension, AutoCAD first adds a new axis that is perpendicular to the 2D axis that supports your 2D design. The 2D shapes you are extending are then copied and placed higher on the axis while the original shapes are kept at the foot of the axis. Using ‘Render’ command on the Render tab presents 2D floor design drawing in 3D layout plan with accurate lighting and shadows.

1) From the context menu, choose the "Open" command under the "File" menu. Double-click on an AutoCAD file that contains a 2-D model that you want to make 3D.

2) To view your design with perspective, type "Perspective 1," after which parallel lines will appear to converge as they do in the real world.

3) To reveal the cube's top, right, and front sides, click and drag the mouse over the "cube" icon in the top right corner of the canvas. By switching the viewpoint from two dimensions to three, you can now see how three-dimensional the 3-D form you'll make from the two dimensions is.

4) To switch the workspace to one that shows tools for generating and modifying 3-D models, select the drop-down list at the top of the application window and then choose the "3D modeling" item.  Click the "Home" menu to see the "Modeling" panel. From there, you may use the "Extrude" tool to transform rectangular 2D shapes into 3D forms that resemble blocks.

5) Select a shape of your 2-D model that you wish to convert into a block form rather than a cylindrical or spherical form by clicking the "Extrude" button. Click "Enter". The shape you chose will enlarge into three dimensions and the top of the box it creates will adhere to your cursor. Click mouse dragging pointer till the box reaches the specified height to halt the extrusion.

6) To create cylindrical, spherical, and other round forms from 2-D shapes, select the "Revolve" command from the "Create" panel on the "Surface" tab. Click this command, then click the shape you wish to transform in order to turn it into a cylinder or rounded form in a 2D model. To specify the axis around which you want the shape to rotate, enter x, y, z. To complete the transformation of your 2D design into a 3D model, press "Enter" to conduct the rotation and then rotate the remaining components of your design that you want to have round 3D forms.
